The third full-length Hypatia Lake album concentrates on Rose Marie, an interdimensional space queen who has taken on earthly form and lost all recollection of her true identity.
A new set of characters is introduced, including a time-traveling metaphysician, light-workers, and archangels.
It also sets the stage for our next album, which will focus on the personal struggles of Rose Marie.
Recorded by Scott Colburn (Animal Collective, Arcade Fire), it captures us in a more organic mood than the previous albums, one more step along the sonic evolutionary path that has led to the incorporation of more live, psychedelic and ballsy sounds alongside the atmospheric, produced serenity of the earlier albums.
